Stewart Bambino is the Executive Director and CEO of the San Ramon Chamber of Commerce.  Stewart was born and raised in Mt. Shasta, California, and graduated from Mt. Shasta high school in 1969 with 84 classmates.  After graduating from high school, he attended California State University, Chico.  Stewart put himself through college by working as a logger for Champion International Corporation in McCloud, California.

In early 1974, Stewart joined Bank of America in Red Bluff, California.  In 1975, he was promoted to Special Projects Officer in San Francisco, and relocated to Concord in January 1975.  Stewart continued to working for Bank of America as a commercial lending officer until late 1989.  He obtained his MBA at St. Mary’s College in 1984.

Stewart married Nancy in 1986, and they had their only child, Lauren, in 1988.   They moved to San Ramon in 1996, where Lauren attended Golden View, Iron Horse Middle School, and California High School.  She attended Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, and Creighton School of Nursing in Omaha, Nebraska.  She is now a registered nurse at Shawnee Mission Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri.

In 1990, Stewart and Nancy founded Express Personnel Services in Pleasanton.  As owners of Express Personnel Services, they employed over 2,000 temporary employees and found permanent employment for over 500 individuals with companies including Ford Motor, AT&T, United Parcel Service and Charles Schwab Corporation. Stewart joined the Danville/Sycamore Valley Rotary Club in the same year and continued his membership until 2000.  He is a Paul Harris Fellow.

In January 2000, Nancy was diagnosed with a very aggressive form of breast cancer.  At that time, Stewart and Nancy focused on her battle with cancer and decided to minimize their involvement in various community activities including Rotary.  Thanks to the great doctors and staff at the Stanford Cancer Center, Nancy is doing well today. However, Nancy’s episode with cancer changed their lives forever.  They decided to sell Express Personnel Services in 2005.

In 2007, they founded Town Planner Community Calendar. The purpose of the calendar was to allow local non-profit organizations to promote their activities to residents within the San Ramon Valley. The calendar was supported by local advertisers and provided non-profit organizations with free advertising.  Stewart and Nancy also joined the San Ramon Chamber in 2007.
