Chief Meyer joined the San Ramon Valley Fire Protection District on March 18, 2013. He currently serves as a Board Member for the East Bay Regional Communications System Authority, an honorary board member of the San Ramon Chamber of Commerce, and is an active member of the Contra Costa County Executive Fire Chiefs, serving as President from 2013-2015. Prior to being hired by the SRVFPD, Chief Meyer served 16 years at the Vallejo Fire Department, holding the positions of Firefighter, Engineer, Training Officer, Captain, Battalion/Assistant Chief and Fire Chief. He began his career, 25 years ago, as a City of Stockton volunteer Firefighter, and later as a Public Safety Officer, with the City of Sunnyvale. He attended California State University at Chico holds Degrees in Public Administration and Fire Science. He currently lives in Lafayette with his wife, Molly, and 3 children Ellie, Kailey and Lincoln.
