Alexander Mehran, Jr. is the President and Chief Operating Officer of Sunset Development Company in San Ramon, California. He will join us for Community Economics Day to discuss Bishop Ranch: Economic Development for a community, focusing on the San Ramon City Center and surrounding walking district, and vision for Bishop Ranch Park. Sunset is a diversified real estate organization focused for the last 40 years on the development of Bishop Ranch, a nationally recognized 585-acre project in San Ramon with 10 million square feet of office, hotel, shopping and research facilities and a daytime population of over 30,000 workers in 600 diverse companies.  Alexander represents the third generation of family leadership at the Company founded in 1951 by his grandfather, Masud Mehran. In 2018, Sunset will open its much anticipated City Center project with an iconic design by Renzo Piano and a modern mix of entertainment and retail. City Center and the apartments to surround it will establish Bishop Ranch as a mixed-use regional node. In concert with his father, Alex Mehran Sr., the Company’s Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Alex oversees all of the operations at Bishop Ranch including the leadership of Sunset’s 160 employees across its eight divisions; development and construction, leasing, finance, legal, marketing, property management, design and retail.

2018 Best Class Ever alumni giving contest is underway…

Whether your contribution is $10 or $100, the class with the most participants wins the trophy. As a graduate of Leadership San Ramon Valley, you are aware that each day the lives of the residents of the San Ramon Valley are positively impacted by graduates like yourself. From educators to business leaders, to public servants, to non-profit directors, and to community board members/volunteers, Leadership San Ramon Valley alumni are involved in making this valley a special place to live and work. What you may not be aware of is that the student tuition covers only about half of our program expenses. The tuition is purposely kept at a low level to make sure the program continues to be affordable to all potential candidates. Donations from businesses and our generous alumni make up the difference in tuition costs, as well as provide scholarships for those who need help with tuition.  The funds donated by our Leadership SRV alumni go a long way towards ensuring that this valuable program continues for years to come. We ask for your continued support. Your contribution is critical to our continued mission to build a strong community through leadership and civic engagement in the San Ramon Valley.
