Lauren Barr

Lauren Barr is the Division Manager for the City of San Ramon’s Planning Services.  He has had the opportunity to work on complex land use projects as well as develop and refine local land use policy related to the City’s General Plan, Climate Action Plan and various Specific Plan documents.  Prior to coming to San Ramon, he served as Community Development Director for the City of Laguna Woods and has worked in several other public agency and private sector positions in both Northern and Southern California over the past 25 years.  

He was born and raised in the East Bay, attended Berkeley High School and graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with a BA in Environmental Design.   He holds a Master’s Degree in Landscape Architecture from the University of Oregon, is a licensed Landscape Architect in California and a graduate of the Leadership San Ramon Valley program (2014). Lauren, his wife and their two children live in Kensington, where his wife is an elementary school teacher and both children attend local community colleges.
