What we know now about COVID-19

Now that we are a year into the pandemic and people are being vaccinated, this is a timely topic as public agencies, organizations, and businesses contend with the complexity of new information and guidance as they work on how to safely reopen and begin returning to normal life. Patrick Joseph, M.D., Chair of Infection Control at San Ramon Regional Medical Center will provide a summary of what has been learned about the virus and what is new with regard to the variants and vaccination.

Mental Health Post Pandemic and Re-turning to What Matters Most

As Covid-19 restrictions are lifted and we are asked to return to “normal” life, it is natural to experience feelings of anxiety, uncertainty, and increased stress. What is “normal” and how might we return in a way that fosters mental health and cultivates meaning and growth for our family members, co-workers, and employees?  Nitsa Dimitrakos, Ph.D., member of the class of 2015, and Clinical Director of Discovery Counseling Center, will address these critical questions and present on how to best support those around us as we dare to explore and then re-turn to what matters most..

Foundations of Leadership Day @ Oak Hill Park Community Center, Ballroom
Sep 2 @ 8:00 am – 5:00 pm

Successful communities require the stewardship of broad-minded, well-educated, forward-thinking individuals acting in unity to promote the cumulative interests of a greater goal. Because leadership starts at the individual level, the “Foundations of Leadership” day kicks off the program with understanding each participant’s strengths identified using the Clifton StrengthFinder assessment.

The day also includes an historical perspective of the San Ramon Valley and a review of the unified vision that was created by previous community leaders. Intermixed throughout the day are opportunities for developing relationships with other program participants and building the foundations for a strong sense of team and group identity.
