This session explores the important topics of housing and transportation and the need for regional planning to address these challenges.

Class members gain an appreciation for the variety of issues facing today’s educators and the educational system and gain insight into how these issues impact our local education community (San Ramon Valley Unified School District). Members also have opportunities to observe student learning and school climate through classroom observations and shadowing the principal of a local school.

During this session, participants acquire an understanding of the role communication plays in leadership including the ever-changing role of technology in communication and how the various types of new media influence public opinion.

This class will explore the important role that the arts play in a healthy and vibrant community… a do-not-miss and fun class – Cultural Arts Day!

The final class wraps up the program with leadership concepts that apply to both your professional and personal life. The Ring of Reciprocity will reinforce your connection to each other.

The Graduation ceremony is a wonderful event to invite alumni, colleagues, friends, and family to attend. The class plans their ceremony with guidance from the Executive Director. The ceremony typically includes a video/slideshow of the class’ year in Leadership San Ramon Valley, and class members are presented with certificates of completion. Because leadership starts at the individual level, the “Foundations of Leadership” day kicks off the program with understanding each participant’s strengths identified using the Clifton StrengthFinder assessment and the tenets of strengths-based leadership. Intermixed throughout the day are opportunities for developing relationships with other program participants and building the foundations for a strong sense of team and group identity.
